Solid Gold Auction

Saturday, April 25, 2026

5:00-9:30 p.m.

Davis Waldorf School | 3100 Sycamore Lane

Step into Solid Gold, a joyful night of sparkle, community, and giving. Inspired by the spirit of the 1970s, we’ll celebrate the roots of Davis Waldorf School while raising essential support for the learning spaces that help our students thrive.

Guided by our mission to teach the whole child, and our values of resilience, relationship, and reverence, this evening brings our community together to invest in a future where children grow into compassionate, independent-thinking human beings empowered to do good in the world. The night features live and silent auctions, raffles, games, a shared meal, and dancing.

We can’t wait to celebrate and shine together!

Attire

Guests are invited to wear 1970s-inspired glam, sequins, satin, and golden glow, in the spirit of tribute, reflecting the inclusive and welcoming culture of DWS. In the spirit of a welcoming community, we invite guests to choose looks that celebrate the era without caricature, stereotypes, or culturally-specific costumes - think tribute, not costume.

Inspiration Ideas

  • 1970s Glam: one-piece jumpsuit (black, jewel tone, metallic) and hoops or bangles
  • Disco Chic: sequined or satin top and wide-leg pants or a sleek skirt
  • Classic '70s: flares with a statement belt and a tucked blouse with a wide collar
  • Golden Hour: maxi dress (bold print or velvet) and statement earrings
  • Layer It: velvet blazer or faux-fur jacket over a simple outfit
  • Finishing Touches: platform shoes/boots, a sparkly clutch, scarf/headband, big sunglasses

Please Skip

Please skip novelty props or outfits that lean into stereotypes. Examples of dress that turns someone's culture into a costume may include:

  • Exaggerated novelty wigs
  • “Character” outfits that rely on stereotypes
  • Props meant to mimic or mock racial/cultural identities
  • Anything that feels like you’re dressing up as a type of person rather than dressing in an era style

Get Set Up Early

  • Before the event, register for mobile bidding. Go to: https://DWSAuction26.ggo.bid
  • Look for auction-specific emails with links to set up your bidding account and add your credit card information in the weeks leading up to the auction. The link opens a mobile-optimized website (no app download needed) on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Click the "Yes" icon or confirm your bidder details (name/number) to access your bidding page.
  • Browse & Bid: Use the menu icon (top left) to find item categories or your favorites. Use the search bar (top right) to find specific items. Click on items to see details and place bids. Use the "Buy Now" feature for a fixed price purchase. Set a Max Bid (proxy bid) to have the system automatically bid for you up to your limit.
  • Track & Checkout: Check your "My Bids" page to see activity and get receipts via text/email after the event.

Parking

  • Please park at Davis Christian Assembly, 3030 Sycamore Lane (this is also the designated pick-up and drop-off point for ride sharing services)
  • Drop-off services and accessible parking will be available at the school parking lot
  • Bike parking is available either in front of the 4th grade classroom or next to the 5th grade classroom

Arrival Logistics

  • Look for signage directing you to the check-in area and follow the flow to the first available volunteer, who will ask for your name/group name
  • The volunteer will find your registration in the Greater Giving system to check you in and give you your bidding number
  • You can buy drink tickets or items at various points using your bidder number, with purchases automatically added to your running tab.
  • Staff will be using card readers at point-of-sale to process payments quickly, similar to a retail store.

Silent Auction Rules

  • All bids and sales are final; no returns or exchanges.
  • Bids must meet the set minimum bid amount
  • Once you win and pay, the item is yours!

Prepare for Checkout

  • Have your name and bid number ready for quick processing.
  • All purchases (drinks, auction items) are compiled into a single invoice.
  • Guests pay the total with their pre-registered card, skipping long lines.
  • Be prepared to pay immediately for won items (checks & cards are accepted) to speed things up.
  • There may be a checkout line (for payment) and a separate item pick-up area to avoid congestion.
  • Items are typically sold as described, and all sales are final, so read descriptions carefully.
  • Items are only released after payment is confirmed to prevent misunderstandings.
  • If you choose to pick up your winning items at a later time: auction items may be picked up on campus in the MPR, Monday–Friday, April 27–May 1. Items not picked up by May 1 will be re-listed for a future auction or donated at the school’s discretion.

Key Tips for Guests

  • Childcare: classes can host a group sitter night and arrange for a childcare provider to watch multiple children from a class at a family's home.
  • Internet is Key: Use your phone's cellular data or venue Wi-Fi.
  • Bidder Registration (Credit Card Required):  To register to bid, guests must enter a credit card on file for quick, secure checkout.
  • Stay Informed: Watch for texts about new items or activity.
  • Check In Early: If early bidding is open, start to get familiar.
