Private Tour of Sutter Buttes #1

Join DWS parents Michael Read and Meg Demment for a group hike and picnic lunch on private land in the historic Sutter Buttes. The hike will take place on Saturday, April 23rd. Rain date: Saturday, April 30th.

The winner of this auction will secure one of three packages. Each package is for up to four people. All three groups will hike in the same outing.

About the Sutter Buttes: Known to the Maidu as Histum Yani ("middle mountains of the valley"), the Sutter Buttes rise up to over 2000 feet above the valley floor. The Buttes are often described as the smallest mountain range in the world. Public access is rare.

About the hike: The hike will go into the interior of the Buttes and explore scenic ridgelines on the north side of the range overlooking Peace Valley, with views of Lassen, Shasta, and Snow Mountain on a clear day. Hiking in the Buttes is exposed to sun, the terrain is uneven, there is no water or bathroom access and the hike will be 5-6 miles of moderate to strenuous exertion. Some accommodations can be made if discussed in advance.

When bidding remember this is a rare opportunity and your donation is going to support Davis Waldorf School.
